Coronavirus Update from the California Dental Association

As the situation around coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve, along with Gov. Newsom’s recent Declaration of a State of Emergency and limiting all seniors 65 or older and residents with chronic conditions to self-isolate at home, the California Dental Association strongly recommends that dentists practicing in California voluntarily suspend non-urgent or non-emergency dental care for the next 14 days. As always, it is expected that dentists will continue to be available as needed for emergency care and services.

Select Dental Office and all of our doctors are following all suggested guidelines and will limit patient care to urgent/emergency appointments only. We are staffed and equipped to treat all levels of dental emergencies, all levels of pains, all age groups and dental specialties. We have all critical supplies and personal protective equipment on hand to treat our valuable patients during these challenging times. As health care professionals, we all have a role to play in “flattening the curve” in order to follow sound, scientific public health advice to help limit infections and the spread of the virus.

Our collective actions now will determine the spread of COVID-19, and this recommendation is being made after careful deliberation and in consultation with state and national public health experts. We believe by taking these precautions, dentists can make a difference in helping to preserve the limited supply of personal protective equipment critical for emergency dental care and frontline health care personnel responding to the pandemic.

Your health and safety is important to our entire staff here at Select Dental Office. If you ever have any questions we can address for you regarding this or any other concern, please call 310-953-9339 — we’ll be glad to assist.

Stay informed and stay safe!
